Problem installing local player

When we are trying to install the Subject 7 local player, we are seeing this issue:

Details:

1. Java version:

2. The destination in the screenshot we are failing to write to is- "C:/version". This destination does not exist on the computer. So I'm unsure how to check if its writable or not.

Thank you.

Please create the folder and try again. The destination is not writable because it doesn’t exist.

Hello Rex,

I created a folder called version and tried to install local player. It just gave a different error this time, for another folder.

When the installation was going through, did yuh specify c:/version/Subject7? If yes and yuh get an error, please post the error here.

We tried by specifying the path you mentioned: c:/version/Subject7. It worked, we were able to install the local player.

Just to clarify, is this the path you recommend for every local player installation? Making sure so that we don't face the same installation issues in the future. Thank you.

I didn't recommend the path, I just replied based on the path you originally provided.

Generally, you can use any location that you want so long that it exists and the current user has access/permissions to it.

I'm sorry but I don't understand. The path I gave to the local player installer as the location to install subject 7 was: "C:/Subject7".

Why is the installer trying to write files to "C:/version"?

"C:/version" is the path that I got in the error. That's not the path I provided for installation.

The default location of the installer is C:\Program Files\Subject7.

We don't have C:\version anywhere in our code base, not sure how the installer was used on the computer.

If a user has previously specified the path to a different one, the installer will remember that.
