Updating JIRA tickets for multiple execution for a single S7 script

So our client wants to use the scripts for data staging. So for one script they have 5 sets of data ex- for EURO, INR, CAD etc.

Now they want to update the JIRA status for 5 data sets and so 5 JIRA id’s respectively.
Our s7 script takes only 1 JIRA ID as the Ref ID. Do we have some workaround for this..like if we can pick the Ref ID from the data sheet..so with separate data sets, script shall pick the Ref ID and update the JIRA status for all 5 executions.

Hi Khushboo,

Thank you for submitting this request. To clarify, you basically want to map one Subject7 test to multiple tickets in JIRA such that when you do callback, you will update multiple JIRA tickets as opposed to only one which is the current design. Is this correct ?

Yes that is correct.

Just an addition to it, it would be lot easier for us if the Ref Id goes via Test Template. So Ref Id is picked up along with the set of data the script has to run with.

Khushboo,

Our JIRA plugin, which should be released soon,  allows for mapping several tickets to the same execution set or a test case.

Once it's released, current operations will be deprecated in the platform and the Subject7 JIRA plugin will take over. The plugin makes it a lot easier to manage mappings and overall is well integrated with the JIRA echo system.

Here is a sample video in case you haven't seen it.

Hi Khushboo,

We will take this as an enhancement once the plugin is released. Have you had a chance to see the video that Rex sent ?

Please let us know if you have any comments/concerns.

Hi Payam/Joseph/Rex,

The Data Staging for the particular client starts from 21st Sept.

They have given 31 data sets and 31 JIRA ID's for each Test Script.

Request you to please suggest some solution which would save us.

Usually, a test case is mapped to one ticket that's the most prevalent workflow and we haven't seen different variations of a test case mapped to different JIRA tickets.

Is it possible for the customer to consolidate the tickets under one main one at this time?

Hi Rex,

For the time being, I have manually updated the JIRA ID's for the respective data sets per testcase. Unfortunately, It involved a lot of manual work also for us

But with this client, we have a long term project. For every data staging/SIT they want this process to be repeated.

It would take us much more time this way.

We need your help in fixing this.

I hope you understand

Khushboo,

I understand the current process is painful. We are currently discussing how we can resolve this once our JIRA plugin is released.

We appreciate your patience while we are trying to find a comprehensive solution.
