Unable to add parameters to an old function.

Hi, I am unable to add new parameters to an old existing function. When I clicked on '+' button it is not showing anything.

Could anyone take a look. Attaching a screenshot for reference.

Hi Niranjan,

If this function/extension is already being used by a test case, could you please temporarily remove it from the test case, save test case and hit Refresh on the function? That should allow you to add parameters.

This is only temporarily, we will be allowing changes to functions with references in a future release.

Hi Niranjan,

Just to understand something, could you please clarify why an old function is being modified to add a parameter?

Hi Joseph,

I want to perform the same functionality for two different scenarios where i need to change the Xpath only.

I am just trying to understand the use case here. For what you are describing above, why not use the data templates? Function parameterization is one of the very advanced features of the Subject7 platfom and is usually used for highly generalized scenarios or very complex ones.  That is why we would like to make sure you know what you are getting into and try to use something that is more suitable for your scenario.

XPath could be a parameter defined in a data template and different values can be sent via data sets. Would this cover your scenario ?

Hi Rex,

I have also used the data template concept for such scenario. As function parameterisation functionality is available now in Subject-7, I was giving it a try. That is okay.
