How to handle data template imports of more than 100 rows into the source type 'CSV' of 'Set_List' command ?

I have a CSV file with more than 100 rows, which I have to download first and then use as my data template. I know I can use CSV files to create lists using Set_List command but it fails to load files of more than 100 rows, what other options do I have to achieve the same result ? Will APIs work ? if yes, can you show me how I should be doing that?

Hi Raunak,

Instead of manually downloading the file and selecting it, have you used URL option? It allows you to add a URL to generate the list but the URL has to lead to a direct download and not open a preview in the web page. Please let me know if you've already tried that.

Yes, I am currently using the URL option. Even with the URL option, I am unable to use a file with more than 100 rows.

Hi Raunak,

Thanks for confirming. Could you please let me know what the number of columns and rows in the file is ?

We have multiple files that we want to use as data sets, for different test cases each. As of now, I was trying to use a CSV file of 104 rows with 31 columns. The number of rows cannot be predicted as we are downloading a new CSV everytime.

It works now. What is the current limit on number of rows in the imported CSV file ?

Hi Raunak,

We adjusted preferences to 200 columns and rows. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with.

Have a great day!

Hey Joseph,

We have a scenario where we'll require to access around 20,000 data values from the excel sheet.

The preferences were previously increased to 200 columns and row, it will be beneficial if you can increase the count to a greater number to meet our needs without much restriction.

This is on priority, need your help asap!

Hey,

According to client requirement we are expected to use data which is stored in the excel sheet (stored in single column, one data in each row) to carry out the process of deletion of the data that is selected from the row.

Since the process remains the same, but we have a huge number of data (20,000) we would prefer a larger range in the rows and columns.

Celine,

We have to find a way to rework the automation. 20kx20k results in 400 million cells, which is just not suited for an Excel sheet in general, let alone processing it in Subject7.

Joseph was asking more about the underlying test case. Meaning, what is the actual scenario, how would you do this manually, say for 5 rows?

We need to find a way to break up the data and feed it into test cases and spread them across multiple VMs.

I am not familiar with the underlying use case, but generally, this amount of data has to be read from a database chunk by chunk.

Hey Rex,

Right now, im not able to execute the test case with 200 data values. I can execute the test case even with 10 data values, the server seems to be slow

hence the entire test case moves to fail status.

Can you assist me on this one as this is on top priority.
