Request for ability to auto-populate variables in Oracle SQL Queries and Scripts

This is a request for ability to auto-populate variables in Oracle SQL Queries and Scripts, right now we have to manually enter them where in other areas we do not have to do that; it will definitely make this easier for automators and would be a great benefit. thanks.
