Template Injector not working inside Query Text Box.

The template injector not working inside the Query Text Box, we are on version 9.5.2.2224.

Please screenshot below, I had to use the template injector in the Keywords field to generate the templated value i needed to use for my query without having to leave the query screen. Thanks.
