Ability to check email

I would say 75% of our tests involve some kind of email verification.  Currently, we have to do all email verification manually after the test is completed.  We do not have the ability to open up a web version of our email.  I wasn't sure if there was some kind of way to have a command (or multiple commands) that listens to a mail server and be able to grab emails and their contents (in our case PDF's within emails) and then be able to do verifications on the Subject of the email, the Body of the email and the contents of any attachment (PDF).
