v10.3.0 has released!
In this release we introduce one of our largest updates to the user experience, building upon a successful preview in our beta program. The focus of this release is an improved way to view and edit the steps of your test case, along with additional improvements and fixes:
New
- Added a new Detail pane on the right side for editing the details of a test step. This replaces the view in the list of test steps, so that you can see more of your test case while focusing on your work to update a test step.
- Dedicated controls in the Detail pane for navigating through the steps and inserting new steps, to minimize mouse travel while building a test case
- You can now use the arrow keys in a test case to navigate up and down to select steps, and to expand and collapse parent steps like functions and loops
- Edit multiple steps at one time by selecting 2 or 3 steps in the center area, which lets you quickly match up the fields between different steps
- You can right-click on a test step, in the center area, to see a context-specific menu of actions, including insert and skip, so you can perform these actions on steps other than the currently-selected step
- Desktop commands have visual widgets to help you understand the settings for crop, offset, and extension
- Firefox/Gecko driver is upgraded to version 0.34.0 and supports Firefox version 121
Improvements
- Updated the login page to match the new UI styles
- We updated the command picker, when you insert a new step or change an existing step, to improve the search algorithm and to show additional information about each command - some even have a Pro Tip to highlight lesser known information about how to use it
- Altered the layout of the fields for each command, in the Detail pane, so that it better matches the workflow to complete the fields
- Parent steps, like functions and loops, have additional information displayed in the right panel
- The Variables tab is now available during test creation, to make it easier to see which variables you have created on all the test steps
- We have improved the way you perform local test runs, both with how you pick the specific action and how you specify the start point:
- There are now distinct actions for starting local test runs - starting the test from the beginning, starting from a specific step, running one step only - along with resuming a paused test run
- Starting a local test run from a specific step, either running to the end or running one step only, is done like any other action you want to perform on a test - select the step (click the row or the checkbox) and select the action
- Improved moving steps beyond the last step which previously caused multiple blank steps to get created
- Improved player controls when the user runs a test while another test is already being executed
- Improved automatic filling of XPaths where previously the wrong caption was displayed after resetting some steps
Bugfixes
- Fixed an issue with SAML SSO authentication where previously AWS authentication would not log the user in
-
Fixed an issue with moving copied/pasted steps up and down where previously an error would be displayed in some situations
