Subject7 version 9.5.0 - 02/27/2022

Subject7 version 9.5.0 has the following enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Added inline XPaths which allow the user to execute a step using an XPath and without the need for creating a web locator. If needed, these steps can also be converted into Web Locators. The following commands support this feature:
    • Click
    • Clear
    • Check
    • Double_Click
    • Drag_And_Drop
    • Fill
    • Get_Web_Value
    • Hover
    • Right_Click
    • Select
    • Verify_Text
    • Verify_Element
  • Introduced a new version of Recorder (v2.0) with new and exciting features:
    • Replaced all old layouts with new ones
    • Renamed Base Mode to Interactive Mode and Hint-Free Mode to Silent Mode
    • Moved recorder mode selector to User Execution Preferences > Browser tab on the platform
    • Added a new Artifact called XPath Templates. This artifact allows adding custom made XPaths that can be used intelligently by the Silent Mode in the recorder using the variable $LABEL. For example, the XPath:  //a[contains(text(),'$LABEL')] will be automatically tested against your application and if it works, the label will be replaced with the text displayed on the screen for that element you captured. Please refer to the page Recorder to see an example of XPath Templates.
    • Recording now no longer requires a step with Goto_URL In a new test case, click Run Test, click Record and browse to your URL. This will be automatically captured in a Goto_URL step
    • Selecting where to add new steps can now be done in these ways:
      • By selecting a specific step by clicking on the step checkbox. If several steps are selected, the new step will be added after the last selected step
      • By running your test case up to a specific point, the new step will be added after the step highlighted in green
    • A new RECORDING progress block is now visible on the bottom right corner of the automation browser when recording is started. This block will show what you are capturing
    • Stopping recording and stopping test case will now use the same button
    • Steps with Get_Web_Value, Hover and Verify_Element are now selectable in Click Simply click any element to record Click step, expand Click step, covert to one of the other commands and click Apply
  • Introduced a new version of Gutenberg Smart XPath Generator (v2.0) with new and exciting features:
    • Replaced all old layouts with new ones
    • Replaced notification popups with new ones
    • Improved behavior when CSS Selector option is checked or unchecked
    • Removed Patterns as XPaths Templates are now available for use with the Recorder
  • Added notification for when a user adds or modifies a teardown for a test case that belongs to another user
  • Improved notifications overall performance and speed
  • Fixed an issue with Change_Case command where an error was thrown if the Type field was manually cleared
  • Fixed an issue with exporting test cases with Hover_And_Click steps to Selenium
  • Fixed some issues with dashboard export functions displaying random data and hiding the portlet
  • Fixed an issue with Set_Var with Expression failing on Java Development Kit version 8
  • Some other minor enhancements and bug fixes
